Comparison

Ask Alfred™ versus Sage Copilot

An independent finance copilot with professional sign-off, compared with Sage's in-suite AI assistant.

Last updated: 9 July 2026

Sage Copilot is Sage's AI assistant inside Sage Accounting. Sage's public UK pages describe help with invoice chasing, VAT tasks and deadline prompts, and other admin inside that suite. Ask Alfred™ is an independent copilot for UK small business finances: Cashwatch™ for cash and debtors, YearReady™ for year-end readiness, and Ask for plain-English questions, with regulated work signed off by a qualified professional.

The fair split is suite assistant versus independent overlay. If you already live entirely inside Sage Accounting and want AI there, Sage Copilot is aimed at you. If you want Alfred watching cash and year-end readiness across the books and bank you already use, with accountant sign-off on regulated work, that is Ask Alfred.

Sign-off and regulated work

Ask Alfred's product voice is explicit: Alfred never gives regulated advice. Anything regulated is signed off by a qualified professional, and nothing regulated is submitted without a human approval. That matters if your worry is not only drafting a chase email, but also year-end judgement and accountant handoff.
